'Property cooling measures to stay'

Residential prices will have to fall by as much as 15 per cent before the Government considers relaxing the property cooling measures, economists say. They note that while home prices have come down, they still have some way to fall before a change of policy can be triggered, although the moves on interest rates in the United States may have some bearing as well.

CPF Board launches public tender to sell Robinson Rd building

The Central Provident Fund Board has initiated the sale of its iconic building in Robinson Road via a public tender. This was widely expected since news that CPF Board had signed a long-term lease of close to 210,000 sq ft at Novena Square, and that it had in May this year appointed CBRE to handle the sale.

Queen Astrid GCB site up for sale at S$49-51m

A freehold Good Class Bungalow (GCB) redevelopment site in Queen Astrid Park is put up for estate sale by tender, with an indicative price of S$49-51 million. This works out to S$1,399 to S$1,456 per square foot (psf). Located off Holland Road, at the junction of Queen Astrid Park and Coronation Road West, the 35,011 sq ft site is currently occupied by a single-storey detached house.

HDB incurs $2.02b deficit in last FY

The Housing Board incurred a deficit of more than $2 billion in the last financial year, up from $1.97 billion the year before. This was even as the deficit for its home ownership programme - which accounts for most of the Housing Board's losses - shrank, compared with last year's record figure. However, its surplus in other areas also shrank.
